Platform Storage Engineer – Bethesda, MD
The Platform Storage Engineer has responsibility for the day to day operations of the xStream platform storage. The Platform Storage Engineer will perform storage provisioning tasks, monitor performance, respond to service tickets and troubleshoot storage related issues.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform storage provisioning and de-provisioning tasks
- Monitor storage systems for performance.
- Monitor storage systems for SLA compliance.
- Respond to service tickets related to the storage systems
- Monitor backup systems and backup storage.
- Assist in creation and documentation of day to day operational procedures.
- Provide storage system reports on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.
- 2+ years in IT with storage experience
- Enterprise Class Storage management with strong knowledge of NetApp and/or EMC storage.
- Knowledge of Fiber Channel and iSCSI architectures
- Knowledge of NAS technologies and protocols including CIFS and NFS.
- Working knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team as well as alone.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Enthusiasm and drive.
