Bill McNamara

Bill McNamara is responsible for advising on and executing strategic initiatives designed to accelerate growth and increase market presence for Virtustream. Bill has comprehensive experience in strategy development, implementation and operations within the information technology and outsourcing markets and merger and acquisition related services. His information technology industry expertise has been developed within the financial insurance, health care and manufacturing disciplines in the U.S. and internationally.

Prior to Virtustream, Bill was the Head of Strategy for Siemens IT Solutions and Services, Inc. In his position, Bill maintained responsibility for the systemic creation and interpretation of the North American strategy and its global alignment within Siemens IT Solutions and Services. Additionally, he was responsible for mergers, acquisitions, partnership, portfolio creation, portfolio marketing and analytics. He was also the chief architect of Siemens’ SieQuence® solution global strategy, which has been leveraged to create a multi-billion global outsourcing backlog of business for Siemens, while aligning client IT investments to better serve their business needs.

Prior to joining Siemens, Bill was a Managing Partner for Inacom, responsible for solution architecture, engagement services and operations. He was a foundation member of the team that grew the outsourcing business to over $400 million annually with a multi-billion dollar annuity business. Previous to his work with Inacom, Bill was a charter member of Digital Equipment Corporation’s Outsourcing Management business.

Bill holds a Bachelors degree in Management of Information Systems, Quantitative Methods and Marketing from Babson College, has completed select Masters courses from Northeastern University, completed work with the Massachusetts Institute of Technologies (MIT)’s Senge Institutes and completed a two-year, twelve hundred hour PHD / MBA level certificate.

Bill is a member of the Association for Competitive Technology and other forward-looking organizations and an industry speaker on topics such as Offshoring, Software as a Service and The Business Utility at such venues as the United Nations, The Outsourcing Institute, CEBIT and DCI. Bill has also been published or quoted in many leading publications including CFO Magazine, CIO Magazine, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
