Mike Olson
VP Operations and Service Delivery, North America

Mike Olson is the Vice President of Operations and Service Delivery for North America with responsibility for delivering innovative Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions on Virtustream’s xStream cloud platform. In addition, Mike leads Virtustream’s data center operations for North America and Virtustream’s Quality Management program globally.

Mike’s more than 21 years of experience is balanced between the consulting and private sectors and draws from extensive expertise in the design, implementation and operation of complex information systems technology. Prior to Virtustream, he was Director of Enterprise Architecture for Florida Crystals Corporation, including American Sugar Refining, the largest sugar refiner in the world with such brands and Florida Crystals, Domino Sugar, C&H Sugar, Redpath Sugar in Canada and Tate and Lyle Sugars in the UK. Mike worked directly with the CIO to define the architectures and standards that helped optimize efficiency throughout the company, overseeing the implementations of solutions spanning from the “shop floor to the top floor”. Mike also was the executive responsible for overseeing Florida Crystals migration of their entire corporate computing infrastructure to the xStream platform at Virtustream.

Before Florida Crystals, Mike was co-founder of a successful eBusiness consulting firm in the late 90’s with clients like Morningstar, Allstate, Anderson Windows, and Honeywell, and later spun off an application as a service company called Buildview. As CEO, Mike was responsible for strategic partnerships, product design, as well as client implementations. Mike began his career as a programmer analyst and elevated through various manager and director roles, delivering large-scale software implementations, integrations, custom development and managing post-merger integrations as well as data center consolidations.
